Standard 1.3: Policies, Procedures, programs & Funding
Candidates research, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, programs and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school, district, state, and federal technology plans and guidelines. Funding strategies may include the development, submission, and evaluation of formal grant proposals. (PSC 1.3/ISTE 1c)

Reflection:
The purpose of this artifact is to seek funding opportunities that help teachers to implement the 7 principles of Personalized Learning as an ongoing effort to improve instructional practices and overall student outcome. The 7 principles of Personalized Learning are as follows:
1.Choice and Voice
2.Co-Planning Learning
3.Choice for Demonstrating Learning
4.Flexible Pacing
5.Varied Strategies
6.Just-In-Time Direct Instruction
7.Mastery-Based Assessment
The above project has one moral purpose: to improve student outcome using research based instructional practices that leverage digital tools with students’ learning experiences. To implement instructional practices that incorporate the above moral purpose, teachers will be exposed to relevant digital platforms and recommendations for best practices in modeling Personalized Learning will be made. It necessary to adopt and implement an initiative where teachers will coach teachers to leverage available digital tools such as Office 365 and G-Suite to personalize and maximize student learning experiences using the Personalized Learning principles. As true to all learners (both students and teachers), learning occurs best when there is a trusted and meaningful relationship. A coaching approach allows teachers to build trust and consistency as they tap into similar teaching background of the coach – making the process more meaningful and authentic.
This artifact demonstrates mastery as its Instructional objectives will be met by monitoring the level of technology Integration on a Quarterly basis each school year. The Educational Technology Coach will use the TIM to monitor the technology integration at the school and use this data to identify teachers who are consistently leveraging technology and digital resources for personalized learning experiences in the first school year of the project. During the 2nd year of the project, these teachers will collaborate with the Educational Technology Coach as enthusiastic group of experts. They will collaboratively identify specific areas of technology integration needs at the school and work together to develop professional learning needs that will increase active usage of technology and digital resources across all content areas. The team will continue to promote and implement active use of technology and digital resources after the Educational Technology Coach concludes the 2-year project of technology visionary leadership at the assigned school.
I learned during this project that funding of technology initiatives is imperative for strategic technology planning. Therefore, research-based strategies and best practices must be applied when seeking funding for implementation of a technology plan. What I would likely do differently is to include a virtual opportunity for such a technology plan. This allows the proposal to be implemented by any school district in any location. This will reduce the limitation of such a grant proposal plan to specific geographical locations and increase opportunities for ore educational technology giants to fund become involved in funding the project.
The impact of this artifact on school improvement may be assessed using the Level of Technology Integration (LoTi) checklist and the Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) - developed by the University of South Florida to evaluate its impact. As a current Technology Integration Specialist, the above checklist and matrix are constantly being used to provide useful data on evaluating the progress being made with digital tools when coaching teachers to integrate technology in the classrooms. These are data points are usually collected through classroom observations.
